Great sipping beer. Clear brown color. Off-white head that quickly subsides. Aroma of root beer, cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of banana. Smooth, creamy, taste. A strong bit of alcohol makes this one a bit boozy. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle pours a dark amber color with a beige head that quickly recedes. Sweet aroma of yeast, dried fruit, caramel and spices. Complex flavor, tastes of fruits and spices with a dry finish and lasting malt flavor on the tongue. The 8% is well hidden. True to the description the flavor gets better as it begins to warm. Quack-Duck (3132), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany Dec 29, 2008 bottle, Auchan Illkirch-Graffenstaden, 2007. Hazy amber colour, large white head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, malty and very fruity with a touch of caramel. Pleasantly hoppy in the lingering finish. Delicious. martin21 (156), Quebec city, Quebec, Canada Dec 27, 2008 Gouts de fruits confits, noisettes et caramel encore une fois dominer par la levure phenolique de Unibroue.
Candied fruits, hazelnuts and caramel tastes... again overwhelmed by Unibroues phenolic yeast. halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Dec 26, 2008 Not too bad. This one is a strong one. Has a nice dark brown, deep hazy color. Smell of strong malts with hints of smoke, roasty caramel, yeast. Nice thick head. Tastes as it smells, full of malts and yeast. After the first couple of sips I wasnt sure if I liked it. But then it started to warm up to me. Its pretty darn good stuff. Has a pleasant aftertaste. Another quality drink from Unibroue. TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Dec 24, 2008 Bottle (in NZ). A gusher, but finally poured with a hazy copper hue and a large foamy head. Plenty of alcohol on the nose, along with toffee and hints of tropical fruits. Fruity and yeasty, with warming malt on the palate, and an underlying spicyness. chops (60), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Dec 23, 2008 Bottle from the LCBO. Lots of great fruit aromas and flavors. Oranges stand out to me. I could drink this during alot of meals.
