Unibroue Maudite

Spicy clovey leather nose, hints of candied apples. Soapy head, deep hazy amber with some hints brown. Lightly sweet sassafras honey, tons of spice, light orange pith bitterness, some tart notes. Huge carbonation, explodes like eating an Alca-Seltzer (in a good way), creamy body, complexly bitter finish that actually flirts with being crisp at the very end, with the exception of a subtle alcohol burn. Another solid beer from Unibroue.

(Bottle). Aroma is spicy and fruity sweet. Orange brown with off-white non-lasting head. Flavor is pleasant enough, but not especially complex....mostly sweet and fruity, with little finish.

Pours with a large, off-white, quickly diminishing, head that still has good retention. Hazy brown-gold body. Aroma is candi sugar, cardoman, clove, apples and pepper. Taste is yeast, spicey, and sweet. Dry mouthfeel with very lively carbonation.

33cl bottle at the Poet in Santa cruz, served in a Maudite tulip. Slightly hazy dark amber with a pretty good sized head. Aroma of fresh berries and some spice. Sweet and a little spicy, with a good yeastiness. Lots of brown sugar flavor ends slightly cloying in the finish, but ample carbonation does a good job of cutting through it. A little heavier on the body than I would like, but remains fairly drinkable. Didn’t rock my world, but was fairly enjoyable overall.

Pours dark amber brown with a small off white head. Aroma is malty, spicy, and a little fruity. Taste is malty, fruity and yeasty. Another great unibroue

Deep dark brown color, citrus malt aroma with a blandish citrus flavor. Excellent beer

Bottle from Systembolagets beställningssoritiment. Served in a Westmalle glass. Sweet "belgian" aroma with hints of toffee. The flavour is fruity and yeasty - complex. Cloudy body.
