blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 20, 2008 bottle, medium amber color, large longlasting head, yeasty fruit nose, sour cherry and clove flavors rounded out by a dry cocoa and fruit finish greedycheater (80), Oklahoma, USA Aug 17, 2008 Looks great in the glass - light hazel with mild carbonation, a white head the goes away quickly. Aroma is mild but dominated by coriander, clove and citrus (the 3 Cs you shouldn’t have in a beer). Tastes malty, creamy and thick at first but finishes dry, sticky and slightly bitter. Good, but not my first recommendation. drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Aug 13, 2008 Updated: Aug 28, 2008750 ml. bottle. Head of small bubbles, lingering, nice brownish orange color, good yeasty nose, complementing other fruit and spice aromas, light in the mouth, with good carbonation. Finishes slightly sour. jackzodiac (12), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours an amber-brown with noticeable sediment and a bubbly off-white head that persists and leaves thin lacing. A sour-fruit aroma with some spicy notes. Crisp, bright, very carbonated with a light mouthfeel. Spicy start with some sweet, fruity flavors, something like apricot, amd a slightly sour finish with a lingering aftertaste. Habanero (610), Tranbjerg, Denmark Aug 11, 2008 Bottled, pours hazy orange with a an off-white head. Nose of yeast, spice and fruit. Flavour of citrus fruit, apple, peach and malt. Full bodied. Pleasant aftertaste too. Very enjoyable. laguerita (111), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2008 lots of spice in the aroma, with some fruit as well. the spice comes through in the flavor with some heavy fruit flavors. i think i would have enjoyed it more with food. Muggus69 (500), Sydney, Australia Aug 7, 2008 355ml bottle, BB 24-07-09. Pours a murky bronze body with big dense offwhite foam. Distintive spicy nose that seems commonplace with these Unibroue beers, but with a bit more to it; brown sugar, sour apple, blackberry, cherry, plum, clove, cinamon, raisin, pepper, alcohol, very complex. Carbonation is a bit low, syrupy sort of body, has some tartness about it with alcohol making itself present on the finish. Body reflects the nose, spicy dark and dried fruits, some vanilla and bread, sweetened with a dark brown sugar element. Quite a different from any Belgian-style strong ales i’ve tried, particularly tart and spicy for a darker beer, yet intriguingly tasty. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA Aug 7, 2008 Nice looking beer. Copper in color with creamy white head that remains the whole time. Not much of a nose, other then some brown sugar. Some classic ripened fruits that I tend to taste in this kind of beer. Little bit of vanilla on the back end followed by a touch of sourness. And then things go not so good. The beer ends too crisp and dry in my opinion. The end of my gulps taste like, or I should say, feel like green bottle lager.
