EnSiFeRuM (501), Quebec, Canada May 19, 2008 Bouteille de 341 ml. MBison (548), Southern Highlands, Australia May 18, 2008 Bottle (355ml). Poured a very deep ruby with a large off-white head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of dried mixed fruits with sweet bready malts, some toffee, nuts, cinnamon, blackberries and hints of cloves. Flavor was of sweet bready malts with a pleasant, slightly acidic bitterness; tart blackberries, crane berries, grapes, prunes, cinnamon and hints of toffee. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation, dry/creamy mouthfeel and a good finish. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA May 17, 2008 Interesting green tinged carmel color. Light baby food banana and some other fruit aroma. Fairly tense flavor, sharp, of allspice like the spice in pumpkin pie, even a little sweet. A bit of bite in the back of the throat. Quite a bit of fiz as well. Nice to have tried, but don’t need another. Aarleks (404), Sydney, Australia May 17, 2008 Bottle: Glowing amber with a thick off-white head atop. Some interesting citrussy apricot aromas are pushed along by spicy clove and mace notes. Thick and caramelly at first but turning to a mild plastic and metalic melange of flavours that aren’t necessarily bad and that give way to a spicy aftertaste. Derek881 (486), Frederick, Maryland, USA May 16, 2008 Poured from a regular sized bottle into a pint glass. The beer was a very thick and cloudy, dark amber color, with a brown tint, and a sizeable, foamy, off-white head with long retention. A nice sweet fruity aroma, with some raisin, banana, and yeast notes, and an earthy hops touch too for balance. It has a mostly sweet, dense fruit taste, but also a mix of sourness. The palate was wet and full, with some interesting fizz. Overall it’s a very good beer, but not one that really wowed me. ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile May 16, 2008 Aroma: lots of banana, sweet, spicy. Flavor is more yeasty biznus, but less banana, some alcohol, some clove. Finishes dry with a nice bittersweet buzz. Palate is slightly thin, but it works. hillfiiiiire (283), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 16, 2008 Spicy aroma. Flavor is grapefruit, spicy character. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Had a small sample though. Probably will re-rate in the future. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany May 16, 2008 Pours a nice golden amber with a soild, lingering white head. The aroma is sweet and pungent - grapes, roast. The flavor is somewhat similar, tart, sweet, spicy, dry and quite smooth. Grape, grapefruit, raisin. Mouthfeel is dry, full and clean, very nice. Excellent beer.
