strowlands8 (75), Ontario, Canada Sep 9, 2009 Very very smooth, the alcohol isn’t as prominent as some of the other Unibroues. A little sweet and a little spicy with lots of malt and some dark fruit. zeek (12), British Columbia, Canada Sep 7, 2009 Pours well, long lasting big head. Crisp taste, strange after-taste.
This is a strong beer Ƙ% ABV) and the alcohol definitely comes through and somewhat ruins the taste.
All in all, a good beer. RPKLove (6), Astoria, New York, USA does not count Sep 6, 2009 Sweet, but a little spicy. Complex and well balanced. Is dark brown with a subtle sweet aroma and beautiful finish. This is what I would like to be served in a log cabin. Naven (864), Poway, California, USA Sep 6, 2009 Killer red color. Lots of spice in this one, but also a sweet, banana flavor. The hops add a nice bitterness to the beer. Pretty good. DeanF (285), Paris, France Sep 5, 2009 One of the best examples of a lighter bottle-conditioned ale you’ll find. Great fruity notes, cloudy look and texture, great mouthfeel. Plenty of alcohol and unfortunately it does come through in the aromas. It’s a Unibroue classic and also easy to find. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Sep 3, 2009 Bottle, Bar Flandres, Burgos. Aroma has malts, coriander, hops. Copper colour, off-white head. Taste is malty and fruity. Yeasty, with a nice alcohol kick. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Sep 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep amber and golden color with an of white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and sweet. Flavor to follow was a good balance of yeasty spice notes and a mild malty sweetness. Nice palate too, there was complexity throughout and a subtle evolving flavor. Enjoyable. Hopper (277), San Antonio, Texas, USA Sep 2, 2009 A dark red beer with a nice lasting 2 finger head. The aroma was fruity, & floral. The taste was also fruity, floral, & a touch of banana. It had nice carbonation activity & the alcohol was very well hidden.
