Commercial Description:
In November 1992 Maudite (the damned one), was the first strong beer to be distributed in Quebec grocery stores. Maudite is a mahogany-colored, rich-tasting premium beer that has a distinctive, complex taste. Because of the warmth it releases, this strong character beer must be served cool but not cold. Perfect with pasta, red meats, stews and spicy dishes, it also makes a good aperitif and after-dinner drink.
Maudite has a typically Quebecois name that is reminiscent of the legend of the Chasse-Galerie (the legend of the Flying Canoe). Legend has it that a group of lumberjacks struck a deal with the devil to fly home in their canoes, guided by Satan himself, to make it home in time for Christmas.
Gold medal winner in 1995 and 1996 and the Chicago Beverage Tasting Institute.

Very very smooth, the alcohol isn’t as prominent as some of the other Unibroues. A little sweet and a little spicy with lots of malt and some dark fruit.

Pours well, long lasting big head. Crisp taste, strange after-taste. This is a strong beer Ƙ% ABV) and the alcohol definitely comes through and somewhat ruins the taste. All in all, a good beer.

Sweet, but a little spicy. Complex and well balanced. Is dark brown with a subtle sweet aroma and beautiful finish. This is what I would like to be served in a log cabin.

Killer red color. Lots of spice in this one, but also a sweet, banana flavor. The hops add a nice bitterness to the beer. Pretty good.

One of the best examples of a lighter bottle-conditioned ale you’ll find. Great fruity notes, cloudy look and texture, great mouthfeel. Plenty of alcohol and unfortunately it does come through in the aromas. It’s a Unibroue classic and also easy to find.

Bottle, Bar Flandres, Burgos. Aroma has malts, coriander, hops. Copper colour, off-white head. Taste is malty and fruity. Yeasty, with a nice alcohol kick.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber and golden color with an of white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and sweet. Flavor to follow was a good balance of yeasty spice notes and a mild malty sweetness. Nice palate too, there was complexity throughout and a subtle evolving flavor. Enjoyable.

A dark red beer with a nice lasting 2 finger head. The aroma was fruity, & floral. The taste was also fruity, floral, & a touch of banana. It had nice carbonation activity & the alcohol was very well hidden.
