Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Feb 12, 2008 Dark amber hazy pour. Lively in the mouth. Aroma is sweet and loud with alcohol. The alcohol is well hidden in the taste and only comes out as a warmth. Sweet malt with a dash of spice. moelikebeer (219), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2008 Corked bottle. Foggy amber pour, medium head which faded quickly. Citrusy aroma, though fairly subtle. Nice flavor; yeasty, citrusy with hints of banana and spice. However, the flavor is somewhat overpowered by the intense carbonation, though it subsided somewhat as the beer warmed. Good beer, but not great. gam (1068), brisbane, Australia Feb 10, 2008 An ocher like pour, head goes back to lace, retention isfair.Aroma fruit nut and citrus confusing aromas of wheat or grain, flavour wheat ,spice (clove) ginger lemon, this is nice, finish tangy dry, bitter sweet, good body drink. apshah99 (137), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 9, 2008 Rich amber in color with thick frothy head, smells of alcohol, citrus, and a little spice. Very lively taste with malt, slight spice and bitterness on the finish. Amazing mouthfeel, very creamy. Excellent beer. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Feb 7, 2008 This is indeed a very distinctive beer. Rich color and body with a slight woody spice flavor. Really good and drinkable. Thanks, Unibroue!! dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2008 12oz. I thought I had let the yeast settle but mine poured a fairly hazy brown with a surprisingly white head for the body color. Aroma is mostly alcohol. Fairly rich body with some spice. Crazy mouthfeel is the highlight here with good, fine bubbles. In the end, this was a relative disappointment from Unibroue which I hold to a pretty high standard. General66 (167), Streator, Illinois, USA Feb 1, 2008 750mL bottle shared with Illini08 and nimrod. Poured a hazy brown color that reminded me of apple cider. It had a 1 finger width head that lasted for a little while. The smell was very complex with hints of fruit and citrus. Tasted very malty and spicey with fruit and citrus hints. The finish was a little bit bitter but did not take away from the experience. Definitely an interesting brew... it was tasty but I would not drink this often. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Feb 1, 2008 750mL bottle, shared by General66; thanks! Poured a very hazy brown color. Very estery aroma: banana and some slight citrus notes as well as some clove and coriander. Similar to what a good hefe-weizen should be. Malty, yeasty flavor with some of the banana and spice coming through as well. A very well-made beer, but not one that I want to drink on a regular basis.
