jonno (542), Brisbane, Australia Aug 30, 2009 A very good belgian, just a bit short of world class. Lots of fruit flavours and of course belgian yeast. Medium to Full bodied and a joy to sip. DeadGirl (192), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 30, 2009 Updated: Oct 18, 2009On tap at Roxy’s (West Palm, FL): Spicy aroma with subtle coriander, nutmeg, light spices, very light clove and a hint of hops, clementine peel and raisins. Delicious. Drinkability: Too spicy to chug. Rebuy: Definitely. #102 on 30082009, DG. Ryan82SM (231), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 29, 2009 Aroma of grapefruit, coriander and sugar cane. Appearance of red cider, with thin head. Flavors of chamomile, coriander and clementines. Palate was thin and creamy. Pretty good, but nothing special. Nicko (187), Ashfield, Australia Aug 22, 2009 Small glass out of bottle with IA for TRTs bday. Only just starting to see these in larger Ƒst choice) bottle shops here. Deep red brown, persistant foam head. Yeast and cloves on the nose, cinamon and nutmeg too. craftycarl21 (510), South Hero, Vermont, USA Aug 21, 2009 Pours a deep chestnut with a light tan, fizzy head. Aroma holds lots of brown sugar, molasses, clove, cinnamon, a bit of roasted malt, and also some wheat malt. Not aggressive, but very nice and welcoming on the nose. Flavor is delicious, with that classic Unibroue yeast strain, heavy spice, raisin, dark but sweet malt. The finish is also lovely, with some nice acidity to it that intensifies the spice character that is the predominant trait of this beer on all fronts. I’ve had this plenty before, but it’s nice to finally rate it- such a solid brew. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2009 This is a very good beer from a great brewery. I prefer La Fin, but this is still very good. bulldogops (153), Alberta, Canada Aug 20, 2009 My tastebuds are still tingling. Bottle at Elephant and Castle. 8%. Clear, amber pour with a hint of cloudiness (probably due to a near overpour on my part). Aroma is yeast, malts, and spices. Taste is brown sugar, malts, grains, mild spice, and absolutely superb. Finish is smooth, and this beer is delicious. BeerChaser0078 (284), Melbourne, Australia Aug 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours copper with a fluffy white head that, like most Unibroue beers, lasts quite well. Aroma is strong malt with lesser spice and wood. The flavour again is malty but also contains molasses, cinnamon, orange and brown sugar. It’s not too sweet and even a little bit spicy. Overall a really good beer but not quite as distinguished as some of the other beers from this brewer.
