505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA Oct 6, 2007 Something about unibroue makes me all fuzzy inside. Pours wood colored. Well rounded aroma, some hops, nice malts, the flavor is about the same. It is not that this beer is terribly complex, but it’s so well rounded and flawless. Mmmmmmm. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Oct 5, 2007 Very cloudy light brown color with lots of carbonation and a lasting tan head. Belgian horsehair aroma aith a sour appleness to it. Malty sweet with a sourness balance. Lots of dark fruit in the aftertaste. The first time I had this I wasn’t impressed, now I am. I wonder if aging this brings out a mellowness that is needed. Beerman6686 (1263), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2007 I found this one to be a little bit better than La Finde Du Monde, but still a great beer from this company, they just need to diversify. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Oct 5, 2007 Dried fruit flavors with malt and yeast notes. A light and very drinkable strong ale. Even and rich. Good. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Oct 5, 2007 I just realized from my local top 50 list that I hadn’t rated this beer even though I’ve enjoyed it for years. And, coincidentally, I just poured one into my tulip. Convenient. Pours a dull bronze with an everlasting, thick ring of head around the glass. The nose always smells cidery to me as it first pours. As it opens up, luscious notes of honey, caramel, sweet dough and peach esthers rise to the forefront. The carbonation is also spritzy at first, but that too dies down to a creamy mouthfeel as the beer comes to room temp. The body is velvet with more sweet malty goodness, coupled with classic Unibroue fruity esthers. This is a solid beer for me and I’d love to see how it aged if I could ever keep it around long enough. Hmright (101), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Oct 4, 2007 Interesting. I did not expect this to be as smooth as it was. Amazingly easy to GULP down. Flip-side is that it is not as complex as I expected. Overall, okay..disappointingly nothing special... hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Oct 4, 2007 12 oz bottle- dark red brown in appearence, fruity acidic aroma similiar in all unibroue beers, and this house yeast is a dead giveaway that you are drinking unibroue. I don’t see much difference in any unibroue beers. This one had a distinct bitterness that balanced out its estery qualities nicely, but I don’t know if I would repurchase. BelgianBeerGal (1274), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 3, 2007 75cl corked bottle. Pours out a hazy dark tan colour with an off-white head. Aroma seemed dusty. The body was well balanced with a spicy, malty flavour.
