Commercial Description:
In November 1992 Maudite (the damned one), was the first strong beer to be distributed in Quebec grocery stores. Maudite is a mahogany-colored, rich-tasting premium beer that has a distinctive, complex taste. Because of the warmth it releases, this strong character beer must be served cool but not cold. Perfect with pasta, red meats, stews and spicy dishes, it also makes a good aperitif and after-dinner drink.
Maudite has a typically Quebecois name that is reminiscent of the legend of the Chasse-Galerie (the legend of the Flying Canoe). Legend has it that a group of lumberjacks struck a deal with the devil to fly home in their canoes, guided by Satan himself, to make it home in time for Christmas.
Gold medal winner in 1995 and 1996 and the Chicago Beverage Tasting Institute.

Another good beer from Unibroue and even their best one according to some observers including me. The brown/orange color is a is a pure delight for the eyes like the flavor is for the mouth. Is a strong beer with high alcohol percentage so you must respect it.

I, being a bit of a devil myself, was immediately drawn to Maudite, & when you're created by someone who calls themselves a name so noble and strong such as Unibroue, you're destined to be exquisite. I adore this shit. If I were to compare the hyptonizing color and shade of this beer to a crayon, it'd have to be burnt sienna. That was always one of my favorite for coloring forests and foxes. It tastes perfect, in my own prestigious and highly regarded opinion, but regardless, I couldn't begin to tell you what the fuck it's made out of, or even tastes like for that matter. Try it! Love it! Or not, I don't give a shit.

750ml x 2 Smoooooooothe spicey taste and aroma. Complex taste. Some fruits: bannana, pruins, and clementines. Subtle carbonation helps bring out the aroma and taste in my opinion. Again, probably my favourite Unibroue so far. I love this stuff. (4.1.05) Re-Rate. This is my desert island beer. damn re rate. this stuff smells great

Oh Yeah. Heady, aromatic and flavourful. Thick foamy head with nice lacing. First glass was cold and last was warmer. Aroma that was citrus and raisins. Hazy brown in appearance. Sweet malty flavour with a nice kick of alcohol.

I may need to re-rate this later because I tried it near the end of a party. I was blown away. Like La Fin du Monde, this pours with a giant lovely head. The flavour is very Belgium with a currant/other berry taste. Excellent! If I could brew a beer half this nice, I’d open a brew-pub.

A wonderful beer. It is dark, slightly brownish amber, very faintly hazy, with a huge off-white head that lasts a long time, coating the glass but not really leaving well-dfined lace. The aroma is alcohol/wine with fruit, bread, orange juice, and qualities of a hefeweizen and Duvel. The taste is compelx and lively, tingly, fruit, spicey, with orange, caramel, and a warming fullness of alcohol without the alcohol coming on too strongly. It is wonderful, satisfying, complex.

A wonderful beer. Pours creamy with medium head, low lace. Aromas of spice and nuts. Attack is electric, like licking a battery, mellows to a warm caramel flavor, finish is very nice and mild. Just a touch of linger to it. A wonderful beer.
