| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2007 The 750ML Bottle poured a clear ruby red beverage with virtually no head whatsoever so there was also no lacing. The aroma was fairly straightforward ... cherry juice, it smelled like cherry juice, nothing more. The body was medium light with no carbonation at all and a slight syrupy texture. The flavor starts out sweet and remains that way through the finish which is moderately long. There is a bit of dryness that develops making the finish not too sweet. jerohen (1614), Bussum, Netherlands
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottled, 2002. Cold. Cherries in aroma, lots of spices (clove, cinnamon and some more). Fruity and quite alcoholic flavour, bit overwhelming, again lots of spices. Cloying finish. Not nearly as good as I had expected, I didn’t even feel like finishing the whole bottle. Perhaps this one is better when heated. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Updated: Aug 17, 2007I picked this one up for $8 at Chips in Outer Banks, NC, and Chip advised me to drink this one warm and on the rocks. I see why. When cool, the flavors seem more subdued. Interesting amber burgundy red pour with what looks like 0 carbonation (as I was told). The sweet cherry burst is mellowed by some tart cinnamon-like sourness. The most interesting aspect here is the finish which is where I find that the complexity lies with a dry soury backdrop that balances the sugary sweetness which rides on in. The cherries seem a bit too ripe though. This seems like an excellent beer to get wine fans into craft beer.
Rerate: I got 2 bottles from a case split with the NEPA case split club and Chip was right. Keep it warm and drink it on the rocks: I get a spicy cinnamon-like cherry flavor that kicks my previous rating a notch up, granted I’m a sucker for fruit ales. badlizard (2351), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Red/brown with a copper hue. It can be served, sold, warm and in the middle, and I served it by 15-17 centigrade. The aroma has a lot of cherry and some roasted malt and cinnamon. The flavour is slightly vinous and the cherries are very obvious, sweet and there is a nice balance between the berry sourness and the sweetness, and the cinnamon is an interesting note together with brief notes of candy sugar and roasted malt. hophead75 (1959), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Anyway, tart/sour cherries and spice in the aroma. Taste is very sweet with cherries and spices. Medium to full body with no apparent carbonation. Finishes tart. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Drank on June 24, 2007. The aroma was cherry! There was virtually no head, no lacing and the body was hazy and red in color. The initial flavor was sweet and the finish was sweet and then sour. The finish was average. The body was light, the texture was syrupy and the carbonationsoft. natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Purchased at Gomers of Kansas. Poured a mahogony color with no head. Very cherry/spice aroma, almost smells like a fruit wine.
Chilled: Very sweet with a nice cherry taste. There is some apple and cinnamon as well. This reminds me of a German winter gluh wine.
Warm: became frothy when heated. Aroma was a little more spicy. The taste is like a warm cider with some nutmeg and cinnamon with a lot less cherry. Definately like a gluh wine. Pretty good both ways.
