Sampled at brewfiend’s small gathering with Johnsonville bratwursts, pours a hazy reddish dark brown brew with no foamy head. Aroma of cherries, sweet plums, and some clove spices. Taste has character like gingerbread with a touch of sour cherries. Finish is slightly tart.

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Amber red color with virtually none head. Aroma is heavy cherry and cask wood / vintage, fruit, tart. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet (berry sweet). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Cherry juice is completely overpowering the beer here, way off balance. Cloyingly sweet, I would not seek this out. Half the amount of cherries could have made a good beer, perhaps.

very nice...certainly one the best cherry beers out there, let alone fruit beers...deep reddish brown body with no head...aroma of tart cherry, cinnamon and other spices (nutmeg for certain)...flavor is basically the same, and is very soft in carbonation...i drank this one cold, but will try warm in the winter
