Very little carbonation leaves zero head, not even the customary ring of bubbles around the edges. Quite lovely aroma of tart yet sweet natural cherries; does not smell like candied or artificial cherries at all. Aroma also hints at a sweet bready ale as the base brew with spicy, mildly bitter hops for good measure. Flavor is, of course, a whole lot of cherries up front, supported by a wonderful spice profile of earthy hops and nutmeg. Soothing, toasty alcohol almost gives the sense that this stuff is a freshly baked cherry pie in liquid form. This is a perfect Christmas beer. Palate is flat and thick, nearly cloying. A great balance of sweet and tart and a rather tasty beer overall; it’s the flat-cherry-soda appearance and clunky palate that hurt the final score. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours a ruby read with an off white head. Aroma of cherry...almost medicinal...some mint as well...some spices too. Flavor of cinnimon, cherry, apple, and a bit of yeast...almost kinda like wam cider. Sweet, juicy and a little bit chewy at parts with a juicy finish. Pretty neat stuff overall. We heated this sucker up on the superb stove at Sliffy’s place--which was lit with a torch of some sorts I believe...Spiced cider aroma pours out of the glass from a dark red body. Palate is medium to full and creamy. Great warm cherry flavor with just the right hint of spices in the background to make it interesting. Really enjoyable. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma, cherries and some spice. Flavor, cherries, some hints of apple, a little tart. Medium bodied, and it really did lend itself to being served warm. I could definitely get used to that in the winter. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA
