Cold Clear red body with an orange-pink shine coming trough. No head. Aroma of sweet cherries, sherry, spices, ... Lightly sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly sour, moderately bitter finish. Very well balanced - somewhat sharp, but I like it. High viscosity, like cognac - ’sticky’. Very nice and well balanced fruity flavour.
Points: 7/3/8/4/15

Hot Red clear body. No head. Nose of fruit (cherries) and spices (vanilla, clove). Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly sour, lightly bitter finish. The sharpness from the cold version disappeared. Resembles a (good) gluhwein.

So I popped the cork at a cool but not cold temperature and immediately was assaulted by the sound of nothing. Not even a slight hiss. Oh well that could be the fault of the cooling process or perhaps the age of the bottle. The previous comments by fellow raters suggested that I shouldn’t become too paranoid yet however. There is a fine amber/ruby colour with only a scant ring of bubble even though I bounced this into the glass the same way Hookesy was ejected from the St Kilda pub. The nose is slightly musty with the cherry certainly coming through. This has a good vinous finish akin to a soft fortified wine, but I feel more is to come with part two when en caliente (I know this isn’t French but I am in Chile OK?). Warm: Looks like a port in the glass now and the aroma is still that combination of must and cherry. At a higher temperature it is clearly more cherry flavoured in character but I really can’t say it is a really good bee, or anything. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA

It is a cloudy amber colored solution with only a trace of a head and lacing. This beer produces a very sweet cherry taste that is infused with the flavors of cinnamon and vanilla. The cinnamon comes in with force at the finish. The lingering aftertaste of cherries, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks around for a while to remind the mouth of what it just tasted. There is a mild acidic texture to this beer. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark

I drank it warm (first tim I’ve ever drunk warm beer). As a dessert beer, it is excellent. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Almost no carbonation at all. Flavors were musty, earthy and sweet. I drank this slightly chilled- it was good, however I feel if it was heated, it would be dramatically different. Still, a unique beer. I will definitely try this again, only heated. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA

Chilled-Room Temp: Reddish amber, very flat w/ a not head. Similar to a cherry wine appearance. Initial aroma is cinnamon and cherries. Some musty and earhty notes possibly from the cork. Also seems to be a bit woody like fresh cut cherry wood and baked cherry pie w/ baked pie crust malty notes. Well balanced, dominant but subdued cherry pie flavor. A bit of spicy flavor, like a bit of nutmeg or cinnamon was put into this beer. Medium body, very light carbonation, just enough to let you know if’s there, smooth m/f w a bit of warming alcohol. A decent fruit beer to be sipped and shared, I don’t necessarily see myself drinking a bottle of this at one time.
Heated: The musty and earthy aromas are more pronounced and up front and the cherry aroma takes a back seat. Alcohol is a little more noticeable in the nose as it burns the nose a bit. A little bit of bready malt is very feint. More spicy than when chilled with a little white pepper and cork. Woody cherry pie flavor comes through more as it cools and it’s balance is a bit toward sweet pie crust malt. Alcohol is a little more present in the m/f when heated, but it actually gives it a bit fuller m/f along w/ a slightly drier m/f. Carbonation does not change a lot as it is almost not there to begin with. A nice winter sipper sitting by a fire place or in a hot tub!!!!
I believe I enjoy this a bit more warmed than chilled, but maybe because it’s freakin 20 degrees outside and it warms the insides when heated.
