Bottle@Home. Cherry and marzipan aroma. Hazy, red/brown colour, tiny off-white head, no lace. Very sweet, cherry, cherry pits, spiced. Sticky and sugary. When heating the beer it actually becomes better. Then the flavours blend into eachother.

2002 Bottle:
Bright copper & bronze coloured body with a non-existant head and a ruby tint atop not a single bubble - that’s okay, it’s been seven years. Aroma of bright strong cherries, potent mulling spices of allspice, clove, canella and some star anise. Medium-bodied; Nice spicey cherry flavour with a mild spice finish mainly showing allspice. Aftertaste shows sweet cherries, a bit of wheat and malt and a very mild spiceyness - nice! Overall, a nice beer - I have been waiting a long time to sample this, but as winter ends on the 7th year this bottle’s been around, I feel like I should finally tuck into it! Good to try when it’s warm - the alcohol comes out more, the cherries and spice dominate as well - but since I haven’t just finished skiing, I’d rather drink this cellar temperature. Definitely worth trying when you can get it! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York sampled at home on 28-March-2009, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

750 ml, bb 7-17-2021. Just a small "poof" when uncorked. Deep copper-red with a smattering of thin bubbles. Tart cherry-raspberry nose also has hints of dark fruit syrup and cork. Flavor is tart cherry, but with enough sweetness to keep from drifting to sour ale territory. Also some notes of vanilla, dates and merlot. Medium body has some acidic tingle and is smooth, with just a touch of carbonation. Definitely a sipper due to the strong cherry taste.

0.75l - Flat red brown liquid, pronounced cheery and yeast nose, cherry on platate, very sour, something different but I’m not sure when I’d want this.

This beer would be amazing if I could not get the taste of Bar-b-que sauce out of my head. Fantastic cherry flavor saturates your mouth. Too many spices, tho, kind of like the 17, which I was not able to finish.

Pours ruby red-brown. Smells deep and rich and sweet-cherries. Sweet cherry flavor, very tart, slightly burnt-like clove or cinnamon and spice. Cherry flavor is strong, but its enjoyable just to sip. Warm, alcohol is there. It doesn’t seem too over fruited, the fruit is more mellowed than most fruit beers.

750ML - Pours a dark reddish-brown in color with almost no head and very little carbonation. Aroma is an interesting mix of cinnamon, cherry, nutmeg and some yeastiness. Flavor is very strong of cherries with a nice sour finish. Almost like straight cherry juice with spices rather than beer. I love cherries and this "beer" satisfies that craving... I did not try hot this time... something to look forward to in the future. Really good...
