| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 30, 2005 This has to get the award for most versatile beer ever. I tried it three ways, as suggested on the tag. Chilled it was very refreshing, with an aroma of sour cherry, ginger, and nutmeg. The taste was largely sour cherry, with the spiciness taking a back seat, while still retaining a presence. At room temperature, it still resembled the brew when it was cold, but a sweetness had come forward. Warmed, it is even more sweet, but a sourness does kick in at the end. The spiciness is toned down, and you can detect the alcohol somewhat (which was almost undetectable when it was cold). I like it all three ways, but my personal preference I guess would be somewhere around cellar temperature. The warm version is great in the winter. Ah, hell, this is great at any temperature. swirl (267), collingswood, New Jersey, USA

I tasted the 2002 bottling and for being two years old it was amazing. It had a great cherry aroma that did not overpower in the taste. It poured a nice amber color. A good beer for the winter months. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 20, 2005 Had this during the fruit flight of my beer tasting party (3/19/05). Poured a tawny brick red color with no head. The aroma was sharp and alcoholic, with easy to identify cherry smells. The flavor was cherry, candy/syrup, spice (nutmeg?) and apple cider. The body was thin but adequate. Also had this heated up and found it equally enjoyable. It would be great at a ski lodge. It in the same ballpark as what you might think of with a mulled hot cider. There was a noticeable decrease in the spiciness when it was warm, also more cherry and apple flavors. Good both ways. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Pours a pale ruby red with no head. Aroma has just the slightest bit of lambic funk, lots of meaty cherries, some apple cinnamon in there too. Flavor very sweet and tart, sugary, hardly any carbonation. Like homemade cherry pie. Very tasty! Odeed (1679), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2005 Cold: Pulled the cork out of the bottle and was surprised to find no pop. Poured the beer with zero carbonation. Aroma is cherry juice. Very sweet and tart. Smooth body with a crisp finish. Is this really 8%? Very drinkable. This would make a fine desert brew, its just so sweet.
Room: More of the tartness comes out, this is a good thing cuz it balances that ridiculous sweetness. Smooth and creamy in the mouth. Very nice.
Hot: A thin head actually appears, there must have been some slight carbonation after all. Aroma is much richer, overripe cherries. Alcohol seems to come out a bit more at higher temps, kind of like sake.
Verdict: they are all good and I liked it in each of three ways. If I had to choose one I would go with the room temp. It was just the most balanced that way. Sammy (4056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Feb 23, 2005 bottle boiled up and enjoyed very warm like a cider. Oh, and served by Stephen Beaumont himself. The fruit gave a full mouthfeel, with beer as supporting character. Better than expected, and good by itself.
