Commercial Description:
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Brown pour with a dirty white head. Sugary nose. Champagne mouth feel. Dark and light fruits in the taste.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a hazy dark brown beer with green!? reflects. Moderately tanned, nicely remaining tall head. Vitamin tablets, oranges and candy in the nose which is accompanied by a milky component. Some fudge and figs showing up too. An excellent aroma. Full bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. Vitamin tablets and exotic fruits in the taste. A hint of incense. A port-like characteristic showing up. Wonderfully spicy. Berries, fudge, lemon peel, coriander, cinnamon and thyme appearing. Wonderful finish with hints of oranges and lemon peel. Some bready hints sneaking in. Deeply complex, unique and enjoyable.

bottle from G&G poured into a snifter. pours a very dark burgandy with a thin white head. aroma is very pleasing. sweet smelling with hints of plum, grape, and red raspberry, and a touch of hops in the background. flavor is excellent. sweet and malty with plum, black currant, cherry, and vanilla. the aftertaste is slightly sweet and bitter and long lasting. mouthfeel is very refreshing and fizzy. very smooth and easy to drink with 9% abv hidden superbly. overall an excellent belgian strong.

Large bottle, pours dark red/brown with frothy off-white head. Aroma initially of soapy yeast, but as beer stood at room temperature, it became more aromatic. Aroma became dark fruit and malt, with touch of yeast. Taste rich with dark fruit and sweet malt. Fizzy and rich mouthfeel, pretty good beer all in all!

Surprisingly almost zero light makes it through the glass. Large fizzy head disappears to a thin layer. Very sweet malts and fruits mix well with the carbonation. A little different but very good and drinkable.

Pours nearly pitch-black-ruby with a few fingers of head with a soapy head that lingers. Strong odor of plum, malt, and caramel. Strong plum and sugar malt taste which ends with a warm alcohol aftertaste. A good, complex quad.

Bottle: A very well crafted Belgian ale. Dark in color with an intense off-white head. This heavily carbonated brew is sweet and sugary with dark fruits and malts. It has a hint of yeast in the aroma and flavor. The alcohol is well hidden and it is extremely drinkable. A great all around Belgian Strong Ale. UPDATE: With the last few experiences of this beer, my opinion has steadily dropped. The aroma and flavor was overpowered by a soapy yeast smell and taste. Over carbonated and not as flavorful as I remembered. I hope to try it a few more times and see if my thoughts change.
