changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2008 Pours a hazy dark brown color with a thickish tan head. Quick alcohol, yeasty, semi sugary aroma. Slightly sweet and vanilla yeasty tasting but not crazy overpowering like I was expecting and the alcohol seems to be hidden very well in the flavor. While the abv his hidden well I do assure you it’s there, you’re body will tell you that! There’s also a roasty almost chocolate flavor in there mixed with some caramel. Very good. It does have a little tangy sour taste as well but it is much more controlled in this one and mixes in quite well. africachile (6), Occidental, California, USA does not count Apr 12, 2008 I love this beer. Has aroma that reminds me of port or an old red wine. Similar flavors. If you have had the Maudite by Unibroue, this is similar but with a raisin flavor. Turco (11), Alma, Quebec, Canada Apr 9, 2008 Dark brown beer that pours a creamy brown head. The aroma is very sweet and fruity, but I can’t tell which, maybe raisins or prunes with some yaest. The flavor is also sweet with strong roasted malty notes. I love the well-balanced presence of alcohol. Leaves a fabulous fruity palate. Very tasty beer. Oxymoron (104), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Apr 9, 2008 Pours a dark amber if not brown color that is cloudy visually but the rich amber color is only seen holding your glass up to the light. The head retention was a slight off white but quickly dissipated and left little lace to the glass. The smell knocks of Belgian-esk with a fruitiness to boot. More of a sweet and sour aroma but notice of malt is light and noticeable. The taste does not hint the 9% ABV that one would think. Quite enjoyable and mixed well with malt and fruity with hints of plum or raisin. The after taste has a bigger carbonation feel with strong tones of different spices from say a bunt cake. The bubbles dance in your mouth but the high alcohol is limit and nearly existant. Makes for a good mouthful flavor. Unibroue Trois Pistoles is a great tasting Belgian strong dark ale but not something to have on a regular day home from work. Instead enjoy this beer with someone who will enjoy a unique Belgian and flavor. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Apr 8, 2008 Unibrowe Trois Pistoles

Aroma of strawberries to an extent. Good flavor though the carbonation was a bit much. possumjc (99), Charleston - Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown, just slightly translucent with a hint a of red. Head was beige and dissipated quickly. The aroma has some hints of fruit and malt. The taste was not quite a fruity as I expected but still had some fruit flavor. The aftertaste had some alcohol in it. The carbonation was noticeable and the beer felt slightly thick. Very nice.
