Aroma of roast, dark fruit, fig, smoke, tobacco, soy sauce. Some cherry notes in the flavor. Still kind of smokey/tobacoo ish. Lots of carbonation that thins the palate. I’m not enjoying this bottle much, but I’ve had it on other occasions and really enjoyed it. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Tasted 4/3/08. 330ml bottle. One of the ideal times when I used the actual proper glassware for this beer. Sedimented and bottle conditioned but most of the gunk stayed in the bottle. Hazy and murky brown hue with a touch of red. Quickly dissipating beige head. Aromas of raisins and plums. Toffee cocoa and vanilla. Bright fruity esters and a wet wood nose. Great complexity. Rather full bodied with that nice Unibroue yeast character. Tight effervesecence and sugary malts. Lively body with tingling lingering citrus and orange candy flavor. Rolling palate and cloying finish. Truly special! Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Lots of spicyness in the taste along with yeastiness. The finish was well hopped, leaving a dry and solid taste in the mouth. A suberp beer.
