It's like no other dark beer I've tasted. There's a quick assault on the tongue that retreats rapidly. So rapidly, in fact, that it makes you WANT to drink more just to be sure you really tasted something that good. Very smooth, great head-- it just makes your mouth happy. I tried it a couple years ago and I have been trying all kinds of different beer since. I went back to it the other night and the taste took me away again. The deep color and fruit smell made me salavate just waiting for a taste. A nice bit of bubbly in the beer. Good fruit and roast flavor. Still one of my favorites. Lots of carbonation, with good head. Great aftertaste. I'd swim in this if I could afford to. Love it. Shagnasty (130), Rochester, New York, USA

Smells great like a dark fruit, and a floral spiciness. Tastes even better, beginning with a sweet malty taste and ending very smoothly masking the alcohol well. The tastes are the most complex I've ever experienced, of dark fruit light hops, and spice. I instantly fell in love with this beer, and as it warmed exposing its deep flavor I enjoyed it much more. Love it. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Flavours are a celebration in the mouth sugar sweet malty caramel, orange, spice, berries and a lasting sensation of liquid chocolate with just a little tartness catching the edges of the tongue to contrast. Mouthfeel is velvet-smooth and quite thick and rich. This is a perfect dessert drink or something to be savoured as an evening drink. I've been saving this bottle and just popped it open to celebrate the completion of my first all-grain brew session. It was the perfect choices and I can feel my spirits awakening.
