The beer pours with a spicy, yeasty, sweet aroma with a creamy light head. The beer is dark in colour, brown and red. The flavour is... a very smooth fruity sweetness, with a tad of maltiness - lots of different flavours in there that seem to drift in as you sip it. Very mellow, and delicate. This one is one of the very best for certain... xibalba89 (147), New York, New York, USA

Aroma has yeast and dark fruits with some nuts in there. The flavor is wonderful... licorice, dark malts, yeast and dates with some hints of chocolate and malts that bleed through. Actually, it tastes like root beer in many ways. This is a great beer... I’ll be drinking this again. drewaha (16), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Comes off overall like a good Belgian Dubbel, with strong port notes. Has a hint of hazelnut flavour comparable to Schloss Eggenberg Samichlaus Bier, only much more mellow and complex, like good jazz music. This is not a beer; it’s a lifestyle choice. jimmiec (66), Louisiana, USA
