Commercial Description:
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Amazing rich malty flavour, this beer deserves it's high rating, the only thing that separates this and the the top Belgian beer is some missing complexity. Probably my favorite from Unibroue.

Pours a dark carmel. A nice head to start out with. Hints of fruit in the background. Alchohol tast is present. I really like the job uhibroue does with their beers. This is one of my favs. Lets hope this one stays.

Bam! Incredible! Pours a deep chestnut coloured body with a thick and seemilgly everlasting caramel coloured head. I can already tell this is going to be good! Aromas are fruity...apples come to mind. Taste is of apples, almost like a cider, but with a hint of malty sweetness that compliments the fruit very well. This beer is seems to be like a thick cider. Smooth from start to finish with not a hint of the 9% alcohol. Very well made, and very tasty. Unibroue is certainly consistant when it comes to making incredible beers.

Very dark brown. Flavor is fruity, sweet malts, yeasty, and some alcohol. Very complex, very good. The drink grew on me more and more with each sip as I took in all of the great flavors.

This is my 5th sampling from Unibroue where a friend cracked a bottle that had been cellared more than 2 years and they seem consistant in offering great gourmet Belgium beers that bottle age well and improve. Trois Pistoles weighs in at 9% alcohol and creates a very warming effect that is best appreciated on cold winter nights or wild game dinners. However the alcohol is much better hidden in aged samples. It pours a such a dark ebony color from the whacking big roasted malt. It’s rich, smooth with real texture, and the presence of the yeast used for in-bottle fermentation gives it a taste and aroma of spiced fruits and an after taste not unlike a sweet medeira. I love this stuff I can hardly wait till some of the bottles I put down are ready. Poured a black color that refuses to let light through the glass with coffee colored head and medium carbonation. Delicious aromas of fruits and spices. Starts very thick and builds to a wondrous full body punctuated with fruit and nut and chocolate tastes then finishes with warmth and a lingering wine like taste

This had a strong aroma of biting alcohol and roasted malt.Average head.Color very dark brown, almost black. It tasted of good balance of grapefruit, roasted malt, and maybe some nuts. The alcohol almost was overbearing, but it is a good beer.It does taste kind of like a port wine.

Terrific beer. Pours nicely. The most remarkable part of the beer is that it has an almost champagne-esque quality that contains a lot of bubbles that really make the beer flavor come alive on the palate and provides for an incredibly complex finish in taste that makes it almost additive.

Good almost chewy its so full of flavor. Dark dark flavor ale. One bottle then switch to somethnig else. Be a waste to be drunk and not be able to taste all the flavors of this.
