Very creamy and buttery with a strong alcoholic finish. This is definitely a sipping beer. It pours a very deep dark amber color and holds a great head. The lace practically lays in sheets on the glass momentarily before very slowly making its way back down the side. It does have a lingering buttery alcoholic malt aftertaste. Great after a long cold day. In my opinion, this is the best of the Unibroe beers. I am usually not a fan of such dark and sweet beers, but this one does it for me. Definitely gonna add this one to the buy list. AndersR (194), Århus, Denmark

Very pleasing nose with a sweet fruity quality (rasins, cherry, apricot). More fruit in flavor, again rasins but a fresh apple like quality too. Smooth and gengle palate, you hardly feel the 9% at all (in the taste at least ;-) dhurtubise (568), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

Apparence: Couleur brune foncée avec des reflets de rouge. Carbonisation moyenne. Col mousseux moyen de couleur beige. Saveur: Goût de fruit sucré. Le haut taux d’alcool est complètement caché. Palette: Aucune amertume. Agréable sensation de porto en bouche. (Rating #34) nlanza (18), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Deep ruby body with large rocky, tannish head. Huge aroma of berries and alcohol. Taste is surprisingly mellow, with a sweetness that is strong but not overpowering. There are notes of grape and malt. I see the comparison to a fine Port. It hides the 9% ABV well. Overall a great tasting beer that drinks well.
