Aromas of yeast, dough and berries. Tastes like a chewy fruitcake with hints of blackcurrant, cherry and a faint licorice note. Excellent mouth coating finish that never gets cloying. A top beer. I still really enjoy this beer, but the initial 4.8 is a touch high. There are so many things to find in this beer. Plum, cherry, anise, sour apples, some nice spice and a hint of yeast. Very well done, indeed. 12/20/2001: My first impression of Unibroue, and I was highly impressed. I loved the fruit. Oh, and the head, marvelous. Excellent Belgian Strong syle. foduck (304), Denton, Texas, USA

Brilliant cherry/berries/cookie dough aroma. Deep brown color with beautiful rocky light brown head. Just the right amount of bitterness and sweetness. Vinuous and fruity. Only gets better as I drink more. Watermelon aftertaste. I am going back to the store tomorrow to buy more. Best beer I’ve had so far. UPDATE: this is just too cloying sweet for me now. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 8, 2003 Dark brown with a very large light brown head, it dissipated rather fast for such a thick head. Sweet sour aroma with just a hint of wine and just maybe cloves. Tastes mildly sweet, hops are in a perfect balanced for this beer, again just the slightest hint of wine and cloves. These is an extremely mellow and well balance beer. A great beer ante (2969), Stockholm, Sweden

Complex and rich aroma of raisin, dried plums, vanilla and spices. Rich, smooth flavour of dark dried fruit, grapes, wood, yeast and smoke. Can also find small notes of vinegar and butter. Big and round finish of port, spices, yeast, dark plums, cherries and vanilla. Gee, this stuff rocks!
