Commercial Description:
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

A dark lively brew, very faint aroma, palate is smooth, finishes balanced with hints of grapes. Great brew, my favorite from Unibroue.

Dark brown, fluffy bubbling head. Flavors were plum, fig, rum, clove, and towards the end big time chocolate. This was complex and I will seek it out again.

I’m only halfway through the glass and I’ve already caught so many of the different flavors mentioned here. The only bad thing is that the alcohol seems to linger in the aftertaste a bit much.

Smells strongly of cherries and fruit, mixed with sweet malt. Pours deep sweet brown. The taste is a delicious mix of dark cherries and port. Finishes with a light malty sweetness with no trace of alcohol. YUMMY.

very dark brown, very fine beer. lovely fruity and woody nose. taste: fruity, yeasty, bit coffee/chocolate(roasted malts), bit bitter, lots of esters. finish is bitter, fruity, sweetish but also dry/tart. i wonder what some aging will do to this beer (more port taste?). delicious!!! Unibroue is ok

A cloudy, deep red-brown with a thick creamy head. Fruity, spcy aroma, with a litle tartness masked slightly by the strong fuitiness. It says it is brewed with roasted malts but it tastes fruity, caramelly, yeasty- but not really roasty. This is a very well balanced beer, being dark and deep without distracting from the fruity/yeasty character with a strong roasted element. Excellent.
