The appearance, the taste and the head are all exceptional, and everything else is very good as well. Taste has loads of apple, plum, and dark malts, and the head is one of the best. Great beer, and at 9%, it'll give you lots of bang for your buck. maeib (4745), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

Big black colour with a good head. It almost tastes like a port-beer hybrid. Good alcohol taste. A very well brewed tasty beer. gsteph (266), knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Port aroma with malt sweetness, fruity and yeasty. Mouthfeel is smooth with raisins and spice. Syrupy sweetness, maybe molasses. Alcohol is warming but not overpowering with noticeable tingle. Aftertaste of sugary port. Tremendously balanced. biznizness (948), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

Murky dark brown; not the prettiest beer, but what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in taste. It smells great, very unique in both taste and aroma…the flavor is fantastic, only fleeting hints at its high alcohol content. Grab this if you haven’t had it. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 16, 2005 As the bottle suggests, aroma and finish of port, yet mixed with kool-aid or some other sweet fruity beverage. Slightly greasy palate. Beautifully simple complexity in palate and flavor (this makes sense after finishing the bottle). I will definitely try this again. Well done. eve (240), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
