Commercial Description:
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Dark brown color, smells like caramel, chocolate, toffee and roasted malts, tastes of dark berries, caramel and a lot of alcohol.

Dark with red fruits flavor. The best Unibroue.

Pours very dark, With a full white head, smells of chocolate, caramel, and dried fruits. palates intense, reminds of fruits, and strong alchol probably the best belgian ale, brewed outside of belgium.

12 oz. bottle into tulip. Pours a very dark, murky brown with moderate beige head which mostly dissipates. Thin lacing throughout. Very, very pleasant aroma of dark fruit (raisin, fig, plums), slight caramel and vanilla, wood and hint of alcohol. Also well-carbonated throughout. Wonderful flavor and excellent finish of dark fruit. Yes, it has a kick but to me is well hidden. It is enticingly smooth & mellowfor its style and ABV. Yeast formations remain with head. Getting better as I partake of this great beer - a rival to the trappists IMO and cannot wait to have my 2nd - Cheers!

Trois Pistoles is a very dark beer, as dark as a stout or porter, although there is a certain dark, dark ruby colour in there. It pours to a great head made up of nice tight small bubbles and settles to hold a head which....looks a bit like an Irish Coffee! This is a complex beer and not one which is easy to describe, the flavours change from the first taste right through to quite a drawn out aftertaste

Dark brown beer that pours a creamy brown head. The aroma is very sweet and fruity, but I can’t tell which, maybe raisins or prunes with some yaest. The flavor is also sweet with strong roasted malty notes. I love the well-balanced presence of alcohol. Leaves a fabulous fruity palate. Very tasty beer.
