Commercial Description:
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Bottle. Dark amber coloration, with a beige head, not so consistent and persistent, but very nice. Complex and well balanced aroma and palate. Lightly floral and fruity, maybe red fruits (I feel notes of blackberry). High carbonation; however, it does not harm the set.

Fantastic beer. Pours deep brwon. Tan head dissipates. Smells of caramel. Nice mouthfeel with tastes of plum, blueberry and clove. Finishes bittersweet.

750 ml bottle. Very complex. Aromas of bananas, raisins, yeast, grapes, apricot and liquorice. Lively carbonation on the palate with a spicy sweetness. Tremendous aftertaste that lingers well after you swallow. Alcohol is well hidden although it makes itself known after you are done with the 750. Highly recommended Belgian strong ale out of Canada. Would drink again and again....

So smooth not filling, fruity aftertaste, deep brown in color, with a nice foam, Malty and fruity, not to sweet. very pleasant beer at the end of a truly crappy work day

I havent had the pleasure of being familiarized with the entire unibroue family, so far this one is my favorite, and one of my overall favorites, the best thing about it is the aroma, it is a collage of exotic ingredients, lingeing aftertaste, and nice full body

Bottle. Pours very dark and cloudy brown with a beige head that never really goes away. Aroma is sweet ripe fruit, almost like a nice red wine, with notes of cherry, berry, prune and apricot. Full and velvety body. Flavors are subtle and never overpowering. Berry, plum, peach, yeast, raisin, and probably much more my unworthy palate can’t find. Very nice, very well balanced, easy to drink.

Outstanding effort from Canada. Pours chocolate brown, almost opaque, with a thick, enduring head. Solid retention and intricate lacing all the way down. Aroma is of cherries, yeast, and certainly some alcohol. Some fruity flavors - raisins, plums, figs - and yes, more alcohol. arbonation that dances on the tongue, smooth, silky mouthfeel. Lingering aftertaste of dark fruit.
