Pours very dark amber, almost black, with ruby highlights shining through. Very fragrant stuff, full of sweet and "ripe" fruit aromas, with that recognizable Unibroue spiciness. That same quality shows up in the flavour, full of sweet dark fruit and some distinctive spiciness. The port/wine character that others (including the brewer) have described is right there in the finish, with a lasting pleasant sourness right at the end. Carries an swesome vinous character all the way through. Boom ! It’s a masterpiece. It’s a crime The Beer Store in Ontario has decided to de-list it. I heard that an angel loses it’s wings everytime The Beer Store/LCBO delists a good beer. corm88 (11), Timmons, Alberta, Canada

Despite the 9% alcohol, the throat-warming is minimal, but doesn’t seem masked by the deep flavour. amazing deduchar (32), Rhode Island, USA

It does not have quite the flavor of some others but that hardly goes noticed due to the power of the palate. Quite tasty! DomErie (11), McKean, Pennsylvania, USA

With a touch of cherry tones. Very sweet edge too. The taste. Slightly complex. After several seconds a thick smoky flavor kicks in. Starts off with a thick fruity edge, somewhat cherry really. Feel is thick but bubbly. Hits me like I want my Belgians to. Damn good brew. Very drinkable. lunchbox582 (22), St. Clair Shores, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 15, 2007 This may have been the most wonderful beer I have encountered yet. Purchased at Shores Inn, SCS, MI. Poured from bottle. Very dark brown color with a very light brown head. Smells of floral and fruits, and same for the tastes. Very light yet lasting fruity flavor on the palate makes this beer desirable, and the almost unnoticeable taste of alcohol for such a high content is a major plus. Just wonderful. Complex aroma with apricot coming through in the end. Flavor is also complex but satisfying in every way with a warm alcoholic finish. bergface (57), madison, Alabama, USA
