This stuff is evil, because you don’t notice it until it bites you on the behind. Even though I served it too cold at first it was still a taste explosion which obviously improved as it warmed up. Pours from the bottle murky brown with reasonable light tan head. Aroma of raisins and brown sugar which extended through to the flavour along with hints of bitter dark chocolate towards the end. Luxurious mouthfeel, with a hint of viscosity from the high alcohol. I think I have fallen in love with Belgian Dark Brown Ale.

Nice dark ruddy brown color. Barely able to get a half finger of head even with an assertive pour. Sweet malts and a cherry raisin aroma. Raisin, cherry and malt blend continue through tasting and a perfect carbonation carries the mouthful to a lingering sweet finish. Top notch brew that will bought many times again. lowg (123), Scarborough, Ontario, Canada

Figured the autumn months is best time to have this one. Poured into my Chimay glass; brown with a thin tan head. Aroma a grape/raisin, with some spices, malt and alcohol. Flavour of dark fruits and spice - mostly nutmeg and clove, with some yeast in there as well. Finishes very smooth. Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA

Poured into a Corsendonk Christmas Ale glass a very nice cloudy reddish brown color, nice carbonation, a very quick fizzy tannish head, not much sticky lacing on this one. The nose is very nice though, malty, lots of figs, plums, raisins, with some yeast and spices. The taste is malty, with some nice yeast notes, the dark fruits kick-in very nicely, with some spicyness. Medium body. Very drinkable, this brew has got to be close to maybe 8 years old, not sure when Unibroue produced this one, but it is already close to 5 years beyond the expiration date. Still very tasty. I have a few more bottles left, YEAH

Aroma is nice, unusual, very fruity, more like that of a cider. Very pleasing flavor has strong pear overtones, is mostly malty with some smoky hints. TrevorFloyd (309), Connecticut, USA

Dark fruitiness provides most of the flavor, as it comes across as sweetly balanced. I would’ve preferred a little more maltiness, but I couldn’t complain.
