| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Cloudy yellow-orange-tan. Aroma is light and malty with some citrus detectable. Flavor has some citrus, thick bread, and a light & tangy fruit taste. Not bad for a style I don’t usually like. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Updated: Aug 9, 2007Draft glass Consumed at Union Barrel Works, July 2007 Lightly hazy unfiltered yellow appearance, perhaps 10-20% opaque. Bit of a sweaty nose, with dominant aromas of musty grains, some corn, some dust, overall it smells pretty good. Wet and nicely crisp on the tongue, then turning quickly frothy, biting, snappy grains and corn hit the tongue along with a subtle creamy yeast flavor. My first impressions are that it’s probably better than any US version I’ve tried. Quite hoppy for a kölsch, and a bit vegetal at times, though I think this comes across because of the abundant hop use. Otherwise, it’s a solid kölsch, very refreshing, and well-made. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
