at brewpub for a beer dinner event. Poured cloudy amber in color with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and toffee. Tastes of sweet toffee, caramel and overall pretty malty. Probably one of the better selections from UBW.

Draught at the BrewPub: Aroma of diacetyl, malts, and some butterscotch. Poured amber/honey in color with a small, off-white head that lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Tiny particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts and diacetyl. Light to medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Diacetyl and light malt finish.

On tap @ UBW. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a wispy beige head. Sweet malty nose with some vanilla and toffee. The flavor is mellow and smooth toffee and caramel malt with a pretty clean smooth finish. Just a hint of alcohol. The mouthfeel is sufficiently thick and pretty full bodied with light soft carbonation. Some coffee and light roast come out on the finish. OK overall.

Nice dopplebock. Poured brown with a malty aroma and flavor. Had a nice clean finish with hops only to keep this brew from being overly sweet. Sampled at Stoudts 17th Annual Microfest: June 2008

On draught at the brewer. Amber-mahogany pour whose head initially diminishes to a ring, then to nothing. Sweet Belgian sugar nose, with some bread and baker’s notes. Candi sugar upfront, with bready and caramel malts, some roasted esters, and a tiny peppering ABV-bitter back. The mouthfeel is syrupy. Decent offering.
