Poured a lightly hazy, mahogany color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of baked bread, caramel malts, light cocoa, nuts, roast, and a bit of sweet chocolate. Taste of roasted, toasted malts, light smoke, nuts, and toffee, with a bit of fruitiness in the finish.

Thanks to weeare138 for sharing this growler. Pours a translucent ruby amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of toffee, nuts, malty sweetness, some caramel and a touch of dark fruits. Flavor of toasted bready malt, some hop bitterness (more than expected), nuts, caramel and a touch of some dark fruits.

Light mahogany color with a crisp ring of head. Probably my favorite of their brews. Easy malting, somewhat similar to a strong ale, not a layered complexity of malt balls and other malts typical of the style. Nice warming quality and easy breadiness.

Brown color with a small-med head. Aroma is sweet and malty with some fresh bread in the nose. Flavor is thick and bready with some high quality malts, a smooth feel, and a bit of hop bitterness thrown in. Tasty D-bock – the best brew these guys had on tap.

Cloudy burgundy and brandy colored body, with a nicely-formed foamy medium-tan head. Fruity nose, high alcohol not apparent but the sweetness sure is – fruity and toasty, similar to the maibock, actually. Some sugared fruit, light char, dark cherries/plums/dates/etc. When warmed it’s more boozy, a little strange – more cherry and wood come out when warm, but no chocolate. Faint, uncomplex but unteredting. A bit far away from traditional doppelbock but still quite tasty.

On tap at the Union Barrel Brew Pub. Poured a medium orangish / amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Lightly hazy. Aromas of toasted nuts, caramel and some dark fruits. Tastes of the same with some brown sugar sweetness.
