| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Updated: Aug 9, 2007Draft glass Consumed at Union Barrel Works, July 2007 Cloudy burgundy and brandy colored body, with a nicely-formed foamy medium-tan head. Fruity nose, high alcohol not apparent but the sweetness sure is – fruity and toasty, similar to the maibock, actually. Some sugared fruit, light char, dark cherries/plums/dates/etc. When warmed it’s more boozy, a little strange – more cherry and wood come out when warm, but no chocolate. Faint, uncomplex but unteredting. A bit far away from traditional doppelbock but still quite tasty. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
