The aroma is very malty and the taste is sweet with a large amount of malt as well. This is a very nice ale. DWestrick (247), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA

Better than most ambers...but i’ve only had mass produced ambers so this is definitely better than those WolfsBlood84 (103), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2007 12 oz Bottle - Pours a marvelous light orange/reddish with good off-white head. Aroma is nuts (almonds, apparently), malt, hops, and spices. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, slight dryness and astrigency. Taste is nuts, subtle sweetness, a little hops, and a small alcoholic bite and btterness in the aftertaste. Pretty good beer - but damned amazing for an amber ale. A winner in a overwise boring category of beer. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Courtesy Acknud. Thank you sir. Dark amber body with a small off white head, very rocky and excellent retention. Sheets of lacing down the side of the glass. Looks amazing for an amber ale. Nose of hops, citrus, grass, malts and pine. Fore is a bit soapy, but the flavor picks up throughout with a nice balance of the hops and sweet malts. Very nice flavor concentration once you get past that initial dishwater bit. Medium bodied, creamy palate. Medium carbonation. Finish is lengthy, bitter and spicy. Full of hops and then at the very end fades to a nice residual sweetness. Excellent amber ale! kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

dark amber, thin white head, light dry malt aroma, solid body, good rich malt flavor, good balancing earthy hop quality without being hoppy, low bitterness, with a touch of sweetness it would make a good scottish ale

Smells of tangy malt, roses, some earthy hints, peppery splashes and some sweet malt. Taste lives up to the expectations of the aroma with a nice tart tanginess complimented by some nice sweet malt. One of the better amber ales I’ve had. rowefam3 (70), kendallville, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Updated: Sep 13, 2007Tasted more like an American pale ale to me. It was watery though, which actually made it quite drinkable. The carbonation was way over the top. I could not pour this into a glass without an instant explosion of light colored bubbles. The best thing about this brew is the aroma. I think I had just as many sniffs as drinks. mcox90 (659), Wilton, USA

Pours a copper, caramel color with small white head. No lacing to speak of. Thin watery mouthfeel. Average for style. Tastes a bit spicy, almost as if this were a belgian. Finished dry and no aftertaste. Refreshing brew.
