Commercial Description:
Creamy chocolate flavors combine with a lightly roasted finish and superb body to balance this traditional brown porter. A fragrant malt/hop aroma and herbaceous hop flavor complete this highly quaffable ale.

Bottle courtesy of my father-in-law (no shit.) Decent medium thick pour with a creamy tan (and sometimes) wispy head. Smell isn’t completely compelling, but the rich chocolate accents don’t offend or make me hesitate to taste this bad boy. Light on the palate but very expressive with milk chocolate flavoring. Tastes like it’s got some lactose incorporated. Some flame licked nuts subside to roasted malt intervention. Not watery, just non-confrontational. A safe rendition.

Draft. Brown-black hue with medium light tan head. Balanced aroma of roasted chocolate and coffee. Medium body with smooth finish. Well balanced porter style flavor.

Very dark brown and virtually headless, it has a pleasant roasted barley and coffee aroma that made it smell more stoutish than porter. Very thin to drink, it has mild roast barley and barley malt, coffee, and some milk chocolate to taste. The finish is simply wet.

12oz - bottled 03/05 - Aroma is the best thing about this beer, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Black with no head and little lacing. Flavor is a bit bland but there is the coffee and brunt malt. Tastes like a watered down stout more than a unique porter. Sticky sour palate. Plenty of better porters out there.

Nice dark color with a chocolatly head. Aroma is sweet and roasted malts with coffee tones. Flavor is much the same, a little too harsh in its coffee flavor, not as smooth or balanced as it could be. Mediocore.

Pours a creamy tan, and settles much darker with a red tint. Smells like milk chocolate, caramel, sugar babies (remember those?) Super sweet aroma. Taste is....well, watery mostly. Hints of muted roast coffee beans. Distant and hard to grasp. Feel slighted here. Nice appearance, great aroma, zero flavor.
