jjpm74 (2694), Connecticut, USA May 10, 2008 750ml bottle courtesy of yjb. Pours a pinkish amber with a thin white fizzy head. Smells of sweet sugar, some blackberries, very perfumy, bretty, funky, wheat. Tastes tarte and dry with some decent underlying sourness. The blackberries lend a nice character to this beer. Palate is dry. Finish has a nice tarteness with some residual sugar. More of a sour ale hybrid than a lambic, but a great beer. I hope this brewer puts out more of these experiments.
nolankowal (814), Dublin, Ohio, USA Mar 2, 2008 Bottle shared by ogglethorp @ cbusX. REddish pour with a pink tinged head. Aroma of sour, funk, blackberry, and musty malt. Flavors were tart/sour fruits, oak, black berry and dry malt. Medium body, sour/funky with a sour funky finish. ryan (1652), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Mar 1, 2008 Courtesy of BBB63. Hazy reddish body with a small off-white head. Tart nose with horse blanket, cheese, berry and cherry. The flavor is lightly sour and dry with berry, melon, lemon, lactic acid and light cheese. The malt is dull, flimsy and stale. Medium body is thin with moderate carbonation. Pailhead (2298), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Feb 27, 2008 Courtesy of BBB63
Bottle: The aroma was a mixture of sweet grapes and slightly musty and sour blackberries. It pours a cloudy pinkish-purple with a pinkish-white head. The flavor starts with a quick blackberry and grape sweetness and fades a musty tart finish. Medium bodied with lively and soft carbonation. Decent, but I prefer more sour and funkiness. xnoxhatex (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 20, 2008 Thanks to Pantanap once again for breaking out another Upland Lambic. Samples at "An Evening with Pantanap #3" Thanks Kan! Hazy red with no head. Funky sweet aroma with lots of berries, very nice. Blackberry flavor with earthy funk, sweet. Medium to full body, sour. Very refreshing and funky.
