Oct 27, 2009 2008 Bottle - Thanks Toby! - Pours deep reddish purple with no head and no carb...aroma is purple fruit, light vinegar and some tart wood...flavour is similar, light tart berries, some vinegar sourness, has the consistency and mouthfeel of water...great to try, decent flavour, but the total package is lacking...

Oct 11, 2009 Red pour with hints of purple. Looks lik desert wine. Still pour. Meh. Flavor and aroma are tart fruits, oak, and mild vinager. Finishes fruity, again, no carbonation. If only this one wasn’t flat.

Nose was heavy on blueberry compote.
Taste was disappointing, fair amount of blueberry, watery, not very sour of bright. Fairly muddled flavors.

Sep 27, 2009 This pseudo-lambic from the dreary plains of Indiana pours a lovely cranberry cocktail red with just the merest hints of fizzy lifting gas. My olfactory organs are greeted with the smell of old leather belts, an alfafa barn, and the acidic smell of tart fruit. I like the flavor, it develops on the tongue, first water, then acidic juice, followed by a bit of locker room at the margins of the tongue. Mouthfeel is thin and not carbonated as much as would be ideal. Overall, a nice effort from Upland.

Sep 6, 2009 750 ml for Sprinkle. Got this last year and let it set for a while b/c I heard it wasn’t very carbinated. Light blueberry color with a small grape color head. Taste was very mellow with tart bluberries. As I expected it wasn’t carbinated that much. But i still enjoyed it.

Aug 18, 2009 Updated: Aug 22, 2009Big thanks to puzzl for this liter bottle. When popped, the brew exhibits some farmy smells. Can’t really detect much, if any blueberry aroma in there. Big sediment chunks in the bottom of the bottle. No head when poured and is suspiciously lacking any visible carbonation. First taste impressions confirm that observation, virtually flat. On the buds this stuff is sour, tart and just a tad of bitterness. Not sweet like lindemans and it lacks the farmy wet wool horse blanket attributes so common with many real lambics. Unsure of the blueberry flavors. Quite a taste treat and I’m glad to have had the chance to taste this stuff!

Another one of the neat things hiding out in the volunteer tent late at night on Saturday of BCTC. Had this a little bit after having Blåbær, so while this probably would have been the star of many shows, it didn’t get top billing that night. Pours a nice purple brown. Light blueberry aromas and soft hay. Light brett crispness and some nice tangy vinegar notes. Finishes with a long tangy edge. Tasty.
