Commercial Description:
In the spring of 2006, I brewed 300 gallons of top-fermented beer using wild yeast to create a Belgian-style Lambic. We conditioned the beer in oak casks and then initiated a secondary fermentation in the casks using whole fruit from Huber's Orchard in Starlight, Indiana. You should experience a tart, almost sour taste balanced by the aromatic and richly flavorful addition of whole blueberries - perfect to share with friends, and a platter of good cheese and fresh fruit. - Caleb Staton, Head Brewer

Bottle thanks to Toby pours out a purple/red topped with no head. Aroma was very nice light tasty fruit, some wood, and light tartness. Taste more of the tart, some vinegar, blue berries pucker. Pretty good.

In short: A juicy dark berry fruit beer with few bubbles and a little tartness. Just ok.
How: Bottle 750ml. Vintage 2008. Consumed when about 1 year old. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Cloudy dark red body with almost no head
In long: Nose is very fruity with no sign of lambic or anything wild/funky/acidic. Taste is mostly a big thick berry juice (wild berries, blueberries, black current). Carbonation is minimal. Body is thick in a way a can of concentrate juice is thick before you add the water. There’s a little acidity/tartness presence but that’s it. No funk. Nothing that justifies the name lambic here (in this vintage at least). Weird that we drank their Blackberry Lambic a few weeks before and we got a sharp acidic lively and refreshing fruit beer and a few weeks later we open the same vintage of the Blueberry Lambic and we get a thick muddy lifeless fruit juice. Looks like Upland make lambic with all the precision of a $5 Folex watch.

2008 Bottle - Thanks Toby! - Pours deep reddish purple with no head and no carb...aroma is purple fruit, light vinegar and some tart wood...flavour is similar, light tart berries, some vinegar sourness, has the consistency and mouthfeel of water...great to try, decent flavour, but the total package is lacking...

Red pour with hints of purple. Looks lik desert wine. Still pour. Meh. Flavor and aroma are tart fruits, oak, and mild vinager. Finishes fruity, again, no carbonation. If only this one wasn’t flat.

Poured red with purple highlights. Virtually no signs of carbonation. Nose was heavy on blueberry compote. Taste was disappointing, fair amount of blueberry, watery, not very sour of bright. Fairly muddled flavors.

This pseudo-lambic from the dreary plains of Indiana pours a lovely cranberry cocktail red with just the merest hints of fizzy lifting gas. My olfactory organs are greeted with the smell of old leather belts, an alfafa barn, and the acidic smell of tart fruit. I like the flavor, it develops on the tongue, first water, then acidic juice, followed by a bit of locker room at the margins of the tongue. Mouthfeel is thin and not carbonated as much as would be ideal. Overall, a nice effort from Upland.

750 ml for Sprinkle. Got this last year and let it set for a while b/c I heard it wasn’t very carbinated. Light blueberry color with a small grape color head. Taste was very mellow with tart bluberries. As I expected it wasn’t carbinated that much. But i still enjoyed it.
