Commercial Description:
In the spring of 2006, I brewed 300 gallons of top-fermented beer using wild yeast to create a Belgian-style Lambic. We conditioned the beer in oak casks and then initiated a secondary fermentation in the casks using whole fruit from Huber's Orchard in Starlight, Indiana. You should experience a tart, almost sour taste balanced by the aromatic and richly flavorful addition of whole blueberries - perfect to share with friends, and a platter of good cheese and fresh fruit. - Caleb Staton, Head Brewer

75cl bottle courtesy of YGTBSM, thanks Brad! Purple with no head. Light sour aroma with light cheesy funk and some berry. Lightly sour flavor with moderate blueberry, finishing light and a bit empty. Almost flat, with a thin body. I get that these aren’t traditional, but the lack of carbonation made this my least favorite of the three we tried

750ml bottle shared by YGTBSM, thanks Brad! Thick purple color. Mellow carbonation. Very naturally fruity with mild Brett notes, but mild and subtle in some ways as well. Some wheaty funk. Great stuff.

Bottle sampled at Hellbilly’s Hellraiser 3.0 thanks to Josh...you ROCK!!! Raspberry colored pour with no head and not a single defiant bubble clinging to the inside of the glass. Not a ton of identifiable fruit in this one...tastes and smells of strait lambic. Sour and funky, but definitely short of the hype. A little carbonation would have lit up the taste buds a bit; this was a bit flat and boring. Still very happy to have tried this.

750ml bottle thanks to tjthresh. Interesting purple-pink color and a smell nothing close to blueberries. It is close to funky fruit lambic though and the aroma is one of the qualities most of these uplands get right. Flat mouthfeel, fruit juice flavors, too juicy not enough sour or blue berry or funky enough but the aroma is cool and misleading. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-23-2009 00:26:53

Sampled at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3.0 tasting. Red body with no head. Sour lambic aroma and flover had a sour tartness along with some blueberry in the background. Alright but need more berry flavor.

Bottle shared by hellbilly at his hellraiser 3.0 tasting. Pours a hazy purple with zero head. The nose is funk and light unripe blueberries. The taste is aspirin, light funk and blueberry skin. Medium flat body. Decent. Thanks Josh!

Corked and capped bottle picked up at Pat’s Liquors in Porter, IN: No surprize that I wasn’t really thrilled with this Lambic-style brew since I really, really dislike blueberries in any form. It’s got a hazy reddish body with some bubbles in lieu of a head. The light Brett funkiness helped to make the aroma tolerable, even a bit pleasant. The flavor does have some berry-ness to it, but a citric tartness and a touch of funk make it pretty tasty. Still, my least favorite of Upland’s brews in this style.

This poured a cloudy reddish look to it and was way to watery,i had a few of the other Upland lambics and by far this was the worst,no carbination and very littke funk to it,i was let down and would not try again even if it aged a year it was just to watery and not very sour or funky.CHEERS!
