Commercial Description:
In the spring of 2006, I brewed 300 gallons of top-fermented beer using wild yeast to create a Belgian-style Lambic. We conditioned the beer in oak casks and then initiated a secondary fermentation in the casks using whole fruit from Huber's Orchard in Starlight, Indiana. You should experience a tart, almost sour taste balanced by the aromatic and richly flavorful addition of whole blueberries - perfect to share with friends, and a platter of good cheese and fresh fruit. - Caleb Staton, Head Brewer

Thx for a great tasting, Kim Johansen... it will never be the same again :-) Clear blue-red with tint head. Great tart fruity aroma of sour red berries, wood and spices develops in mouth. Flavour is sour and long dry sour finish. Wauw... gotta look out for mkore from Upland.

Bottle. Blueberry skin and juice mixed with some basement funkiness initially on the nose. A hint of black dirt? But mostly just funky and slightly tart rotting blueberries. Pours a very pretty Purple/amber (reminiscent of IH Oaked Quad w/ Brett). Still. No carbonation and no head.Sure... it’s not overly sour, but it’s not sweet either. A bit of acidity on the back of the tongue. Plenty of tart blueberry juice. Fruit and oak tannin are present. Just not very complex. Slightly watery midpalate. Slick and slightly oily on the tongue. Minimal carbonation with a slightly acidic finish. Certainly not horrible...

Bottle shared by Ethan. Bluish red clear pour with small head. As ucusty noted, this tasted like more of a fruit beer than a sour lambic. Floral blueberry nose, sweet overall. A bit of a thin finish. Drinkable, though.

Thanks to Ethan for sharing this one! Flat gold pour with purple hues. Seemed more like a fruit beer then a lambic especially after all the authentic lambics/ wild beers the Carolina Crew shared at the last tasting of the year. Hopefully time will help this one out. Hardly enough acidity to please my sour tooth. Im more glad everyday I didnt make the drive to Indiana for these.

This was a horrible beer. I really can not believe that the brewer had the nuts to sell this piece of shit. What are you thinking? Seriously? How can anyone one that has even a bit of integrity sell this beer?

Taster – 2008 Great Salt Lake Festivus – Beer Session – A brew with a super nose and color but when it comes to the flavor and finish this beer misses the boat and just dies on the tongue. Super weak and water this was the weakest beer for the evening. Glad it was the first for the night.
