Bottle from StFun. Thanks! Cloudy yellow red. Great aroma. Sour and a little bit of funk. Sweet and sour. My favorite of the Upland Lambics.

Bottle shared by wetherel at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop in November with DenverLogan, DSG, Ryan from the shop, and others. Thanks John for bringing this one! Color is cloudy pink-orange with plenty of carbonation and a frothy white head. Tart, lactic aroma of hay, biscuit and sour, ripe cherries. Enjoyable flavors of cherry, wood, and earthy yeast undertones. Much less tart on the finish than I expected, but it lets the raw flavors of the cherry come through. Beautifully balanced and very easy to drink. Great stuff!

Beautiful red-orange color with the slightest hint of pink. The smell is on point, subtle zoo/barnyard/animal funk (not horseblanket), gives an authentic feel to the beer. The taste has a cherry element and very subtle funk notes, just a little tartness but never really becomes puckering or what I would consider sour. This was a nice kriek and the funky smell was the best aspect. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-15-2008 03:39:18

Pure cherry and tart aroma, sort of what sour cherry with a splash of high grade vinegar would smell like, the taste is what you would expect to find in Belgium , wonderful pure cherry and oak and funk, little or no sweetness, a pure joy to sip. Top grade stuff

750 ml bottle

I opened this one first since of the three I have it was the most enticing. Peach and Blackberry might be different but unless you can get a Cherry lambic right the rest will not be good either. I greatly enjoyed it and now look forward to the rest soon.

Aroma / Appearance - A carbonated light peach colored fluid swirled around the tulip glass. A short lived white head soon faded away leaving behind a strong tart smell of oak and cherry pits. It reminds of New Glarus Belgian Red with a tart and intense punch.

Flavor / Palate - Dry and sour it provides the expected cherry kick in a fresh way. The tartness rests on the throat slowly sucking away all moisture. The burst of sourness is not unlike a small handful of the sugar attached to sour patch kids. On par with most Cantillon offerings I can only imagine this 2008 release will get better with time.

Hazy reddish pink pour with a great lasting foamy head. The aroma is tart and funky with barnyard, wet wool, lemon, nice fresh cherry. Flavor is very acidic initially, tartness is followed by funk, oak, and soft fresh cherries. Nice battle in the finish between oak tartness and cherry flavors. Quenching like lemonade or something. Nice lively carbonation. I really liked this a lot. Hype or no hype. It tasted really good.

Very nice lambic. I was impressed with what the Upland guys did here. Pours a very light red color with a thin white head and just a little lacing. Aroma presents itself right away; funk, cherries, wood, ’’cheesecloth’’, and yeast. Flavor is almost exactly what you want, a nice tart sour brew with a strong cherry backbone. Some candy sugar and malt as well, which was surprising. Right now, this is a solid and delicious lambic; with time, it could really turn into something special.

This is my favorite one so far. From Batch 1 and 2 now numerous times. So nice and prickly sour. Tart cherry with some barrel and funk. Slightly acidic but still nice mouthfeel. Delicious and seems like a great Lambic to me.
