Sample #19 at 1st CST. Pours a murky grapefruit juice color, small wispy white head. Aroma is urinal cake, lacto, yogurt, brett, potpourri. Flavor is the same deal, yogurt, lacto, coconut milk is interesting, lime, put the lime in the coconut, some tart cherry. Nice fizzy soft carbonation, a bit milky overall. I don’t get these American ’lambic’ beers...

bottle. careful pour yields a light pink colored body, bright and clear, small film of a white head on top, no retention, somewhat effervescent body. very thin body and light texture. light prickly acidity, lactic acid notes, light notes of bile and sweat/body/bacteria. light dusting of woody cherry. effervescent, prickly, very thin texture but carbonation seems appropriately tight and acidity is mild, it works somehow. not a stellar beer by any means, but drinkable.

Solan brought this beer. Know that. Reddish pour. Nice tart cherry aroma. Flavor is delicious. Tart cherries everywhere with some woody notes and light vinegar. Yep its good.

Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Cloudy rose, orange. Bit of funky cherry. Morello cherry. it’s ok bit of sourness. Some good fruit, but nowhere near a fruit lambic. It’s a sour.

hazy pinkish orange pour with medium white head. Looks like ruby red grapefruit juice. Nice amount of funk in the aroma, fruitiness is there, but not neccissarily cherry, sour yogurt is dominant, unripe strawberry. Like in the kiwi Im getting that strange coconut oil flavor, pineapple, medium tartness, lactic, yogurt. Creamy body/carbonation with a slightly oily finish.

A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris O’s Pre GBBF Extravaganza.
A pale, hazy orange / brown colour with no real head to speak of. Not much cherry happening in the aroma but it’s still pretty decent. In fact it is fairly fruity I’m just not really getting cherry. It’s more apricot and peach with some assertive oaky notes. Once in the mouth the cherry is much more apparent on top of the proper lambic base. A good hit of cinnamon reminds me of Girardin Kriek or the new Oud Beersel or something. Maybe not particularly complex but it’s not a problem. Another solid lambic from Upland.

Bottle… WTF OMG!… Murky, peanut butter-colored ale. No head. The nose is acidic and funky – old cheese and lemon – not a lot of cherry. Medium to full-bodied and milky with prickly carbonation. Tart and tangy for the most part, but cherry and toffee sweetness is also offered. Tart, dry finish. Bottle courtesy of hellomynameis!

Shared bottle at Wild the Wild Beers Are 2009. The aroam is vinegar, candy sugar, sour cherries. The fruit is not as evident as I might have thought. The appearance is cloudy red/brown, white head. the flavor is a vinegar sour, cherry - sweeter than the aroma. Sour, tart finish, not much fruit, which wasunexpected for this beer. Not bad, not great.
