Commercial Description:
Chocolate Stout: A very dark, robust beer. Chocolate, pale, and roasted malts, rolled oats and spicy hops were used to brew this beer, promoting a coffee-like flavor with hint s of dark bitter chocolate. Organic chocolate was added in conditioning to create a complex chocolate finish.

Bottle received via trade with StFun. Pour was dark brown (almost black) with a little cookie colored carbonation. Aroma was malty and a little noticeable chocolate. Flavor was immediately of roasted dark malts, then a little chocolate and then finished smooth and smoky sweet. A very solid beer!

Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, beige head. Decent retention. Big time espresso and dark chocolate aroma outshines, but doesn’t wipe out, less significant notes of molasses and tobacco. Medium-bodied with middle-of-the-road carbonation. Bitter dark chocolate and espresso grounds flavor. Lengthy, acrid, bitter finish. Kudos to StFun for providing the bottle!

Pours black with a light brown head. Certain chocolate nose with a decent roasted layer. Flavor of a decent cafe mocha. Medium body with just enough carbonation to keep the beer from being still. Roast and chocolate lingers a bit. Leaves an oily film. Not bad. Maybe better from a tap.

Deep brown in colour with a thin but lingering brown coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is chalky, some chocolate and roasty coffee beans. The flavour is a bit dry, astringent, only some chocolate, light sweetness, fruit and coffee. Roasty and sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes dry with a very light chocolate sweetness.

A very basic stout with not a whole lot of chocolate in this. I’d like to see this with a larger body.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with Optigon, thanks Gary.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours very dark with near infra red edges and thin mocha head. In the aroma are fairly bold notes of roasty malts, molasses and chocolate followed by a mild amount of coffee. A big draw brings up caramel and even more chocolate, yum. The taste starts rich and chocolaty then moves to a muted roasted maltiness. Toward midway a tasty combination of chocolate and caramel emerge and taper off the experience into the finish. Very nice stout.

The aroma is lightly dusty, but with noticeable chocolate and coffee aromatics. The flavor is similar. Quite sweet through the middle with noticeable dark fruit accents leaning toward dates and plums. Mild smoke notes. Not bad at all.

12 oz bottle. Pours a black body with some brown highlights under a fizzy dark brown head that faded quickly. Lots of roast and a little chocolate maltiness, but clearly no actual chocolate. Light burnt notes and a little chalkiness. The flavor is very chocolaty up front though, with some vanilla and cream sweetness on the back end that finishes with lightly burnt toast, coffee, and a touch of chalk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice soft fizzy carbonation level. The texture borders on creamy but doesn’t quite hit it. This was delicious, way better than their Porter.

Bottle courtesy of stfun. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of chocolate, lots of roasty character. Tastes of chocolate, some hints of tarte fruit. Mouthfeel is full with a roasty finish.
