| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Picked up a six-pack in Bloomington, IN. This poured with a dark rich color and a very large tightly formed head (out of the bottle!). Aroma was a smooth roastedness with hints of chocolate. The flavor was very smooth and very balanced. You see a lot over indulgence with Chocolate Stouts, not here, there was minimal acidity. This is the most drinkable c-stout I’ve ever had! I feel the version I had is new for 2008 (Jan ’08 bottle). It appears they’ve made considerable progress since last year. Boutip (2390), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a super large foamy head with great retention. Aroma of black chocolate with some subtle coffee notes is very interesting. Taste is a super well balance mix between some dark cacao notes with some coffee but without intense dryness at the end. Body is quite full with some great carbonation and a perfect creamy texture. Definitely way better then I would have expected and now makes me want to explore other beer from this brewery including the fruit lambic. StFun (534), Indiana, USA

Nicely avoids going overboard, concentrates on the body of the beer, with good results. Dark and thick, but not syrupy. Full bodied and lots of malt. Hints of oatmeal and hops, with a clean coffee aftertaste. Nice and full of flavors. Not "chocolate" so much as some other chocolate beers, but one that balances itself out nicely. Very tasty. tcruicks (282), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Smooth and creamy on the palate, nice creamy bitter chocolate flavour. (Very chocolatey, which I love!) loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Deep, dark black with a medium tan head. The aroma is fully roasty and chocolaty...very inticing! The flavor is well roasted with lots of coffee and bittersweet chocolate...definite lactic sourness in the aftertaste. Medium thin feel...very crisp. I’ll agree with my wife and say that this is "very tasty." Thanks mike. flutetokill (515), Fresno, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Opaque dark brown with a quickly dissolving thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, mild coffee and a kiss of the hops. Taste of chocolate, oatmeal, dark chocolate, roasted malt and light coffee. Creamy texture and some chocolate bitterness on the back end. Overall I was impressed and will seek this one out again. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2004 Near black chestnut color with a smallish tan head. Oh, we can small the oats in this one. Mild sorghum, raw sugar and latte aromas. Now this is a sweet stout! Light sweet start that by mid quaff is full frontal. MIldly acidic hops real thing back in toward the end. Mild berries, rich coffee, pure dark chocolate, touch of peat and earth all swim about in the flavors. Mild, dry linger with a touch of bittersweet chocolate and roasted malts. Not overly done and drinkable. Actually my kind of stout. Thanks to my CecretBanta.
