Taste picks up on the fruitiness of the nose, and adds a bit of a sour finish. Carbonation is a bit too much, imo. A decent enough effort, but lacks the character to make it a top tier IPA. hawkinmi (10), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2007 12 oz, bottled Aug 07. Slight haze on this copper-amber beer. Small head that lasts fairly well. Toffee with unsweetened cocoa and slight citrus in the aroma. Earthy grain and molasses front develops a spicy-sour tinge in the middle, then finishes with peppery dry grain, more citrus, toasted nuts, and slight cocoa. Light-medium body is fairly smooth with a lot of tongue tingle and a dry finish. Seems like a nice hybrid of the ubiquitous West Coast-style AIPA and English-style IPAs. shrubber85 (2934), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Bottle. Peach and apple malt and grapefruit hops aroma. Cloudy orange amber color with large, long-lasting head. Bitter-sweet orange and grapefruit hops flavor. A nice solid IPA. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Piney resinous hop and caramel malt aromas. Medium bodied with a tangy tart hop palate. Nice acidity. Rolling hop palate but a tad thin. Bready base malt flavor. Good yet milder. cdeaton (66), Madison, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 4, 2007 From the bottle: Flowery aroma -- honeysuckle, pine, citrus. Some hops, but more thin and sweet than anything. Not all that strong; doesn’t seem like an IPA. Not enough hops. That said, it’s not all that bad. Too expensive to drink regularly; just not worth it. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

hazy amber, thin beige head, stringy lace, sweet floral hop aroma with sweet carmel and a touch of butterscotch, nice robust hop flavor on a balancing sweet carmel malt base that blends into some sweet butterscotch character, long pleasant bitter finish, a fine drinking IPA, mostly an American style IA with a touch of the buttery English character like from a Ringwood brewery (which works for me)

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Slightly hazy amber with off-white head. Floral nose with notes of grapefruit, pine and caramel. The flavor comes off much more sweet than bitter. Medium body. Very lively carbonation. Nice beer, but too malty and overly carbonated for my preferences in an IPA.
