Malt oriented, very pleasant ale with a judicious spicy hop finish.
I like:
Not your standard in your face IPA, not all that bitter, but enough bite to avoid exaggerated sweetness. Very pleasant biscuity malt flavours, focused and impressively well-extracted. Fair leafy, flowery, spicy bitterness. The hops really act as a complement rather than the focus, but do it with grace. Excellent balance and a fine food pairing companion. Large and healthy white lacy head.
I dislike:
Not a whole lot of Oomph, but sometimes, that’s just what you wish for.

Rich malty nose with some buttery notes. Plenty of pine hops as well. Lots of bread and butter flavors, and grapefruit hops. Strong, brash bitterness. Medium body with a bit of a slick mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation. Dry finish. Pretty average, but decent.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Poured from a 12-oz bottle a hazy amber color with a nice fluffy white head. The aroma was faint of citrus. Beer had a hoppy taste of citrus and pines with a sweeter than expected finish. esjaygee (1537), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 18, 2008 On Tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest. Hazy amber with medium white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, grapefruit and mild sweet malt. Taste of citrus, grapefruit and burnt beer ingredients with an unbeneficial bitter finish. Not very balanced and the burnt qualities detract somewhat. Dastrn (115), Warsaw, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Pours an opaque caramel/amber with a massive frothy head.
Smelt sweetly of malt and hops, with orange peel, banana, and some floral aromas.
Taste was a rich balance of malt and hops, with a little orange and grass flavors peeking through.
Mouthfeel was lightly carbonated at the tip of the tongue, and smooth down the back.
Overall a great IPA if you don’t come into it expecting 100 IBUs. It’s a non-hophead’s IPA.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Nice, redish brown in color IPA. Good sized head poured into a pint. Nice balanced malt profile. Good hop finish, almost nut-like. Mouth smacking, but not heavy on the hop finish. Glad I got a sixer. GAManiac (1180), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of StFun. Pours a hazy dark amber with almost no head and very little lacing. The smell is surprising for a IPA with a good bit of spices on top of a decidedly low-key floral hop profile. Sweet bready malts are in the nose as well. The taste also has a big sweet floral profile with hops and malts blending together nicely. There is more spices than I’ve ever tasted from an IPA. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation and less bitterness than most IPAs. I actually really liked this IPA despite the fact that it’s no hop bomb. It’s very drinkable and well balanced. Recommended. dougblur (11), , Indiana, USA

Appearance is dark like a IPA.
Flavor wasn’t hoppy and more like a hefeweizen.
