Jul 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of StFun. Pours a hazy dark amber with almost no head and very little lacing. The smell is surprising for a IPA with a good bit of spices on top of a decidedly low-key floral hop profile. Sweet bready malts are in the nose as well. The taste also has a big sweet floral profile with hops and malts blending together nicely. There is more spices than I’ve ever tasted from an IPA. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation and less bitterness than most IPAs. I actually really liked this IPA despite the fact that it’s no hop bomb. It’s very drinkable and well balanced. Recommended.

Appearance is dark like a IPA.
Flavor wasn’t hoppy and more like a hefeweizen.

Jun 8, 2008 On tap at Upland brewery. I didn’t even finish this one, it tasted nothing like an ipa to me. It seemed like they used a weizen yeast to make this one and there was very little in the way of hop aroma or flavor.

May 28, 2008 soapy and sudsy yet not offensively so. decent hop profile and a metal taste infused into the crystalized flavor of hops. well hidden alcohol profile. a good beer in the raw.
