Aroma is of lemon and pepper and some funky malt backbone. Taste is much the same. Nothing really works with this one. I’m glad I don’t have to drink more of it. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Hazy dark golden liquid with a taller fairly lasting ivory colored head. Scents of pale malt, touch of spice and I detect a hint of sourness and earthiness. LIght sweet start with a quick about face with some citric bitterness. Only a hint of the sourness I detected in the nose. Quite dry with a grapefruit and orange rind characteristic. The deeper I get into this one the more citric it get. If you like bitter citric brews this one is for you. AmEricanbrew (1925), Wynot, Wyoming, USA

Nice toasted caramel malty sweetness with some herbs and spices in the finish. Seems more English pale than American. Skyview (4063), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2008 On draft at brewpub. Poured golden amber in color with a small white head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney and citrus hops. Tastes of citrus, light piney, american hop profile with a nice caramel malt backbone. I really enjoyed the hop character of this pale ale. Very drinkable. Not bad. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Not a shabby offering from Upland. Kind of a little brither to Alpha King. Same kind of basic profile, but toned down. Nice hop aroma and flavor, lots of malt swimming around. Some citrus fruits in the background. Everything holds together fairly well. Pretty solid. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2008 Golden-amber with a big rocky head. Crisp and quenchy with lively carbonation. Toasty, grainy malt flavors with a touch of honey-like sweetness. Caramel, too. Citrusy, perfumy, flowery hops. Balancing bitterness and a slight nip of sourness, which added depth. Dryish finish. Not a bad pale.
