boamr (112), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2009 pours a golden color a little white head. Has a acidic peach smell. Has a nice sour peach taste with a little bit of tartness to it. DaSilky1 (1933), San Diego, California, USA Oct 2, 2009 Muddy orange juice look with full off-white head. nose was nice to me...giving me a nice, sour, vivid peach. The flavors were lightly soured and funky with loads of peach. Note overly acidic yet it remained nice and clean with vivid peach notes abound. This brew made me sad. I was expecting much much more. It was drinkable and light, just didn’t have the kick that I wanted. Not that great of a lambic. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 15, 2009 Bottle and shared with Jeff and Kevin at our little post MiBGF Saturday Night tasting:
Hazy golden hue with a small frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma is sour acidic peaches and light brett vapours along with some oak, grassy and dirty esters. The taste is acidic and fruity for sure, the peach flavor bounces between tart and sweet which was interesting, there are some pale malt and herbal qualities as well. The mouth feel is refreshing but a tad watery and short. This is getting better with age but is still over a year away from it’s peak. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Aug 5, 2009 Pours amber with some spritzy carbonation floating around. Smells of peaches with some tartness and funkiness. Overall, a decent flavor with the peaches not overwhelming the wheaty, funky background. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Jul 26, 2009 Updated: Jul 27, 2009Courtesy of BBB63
Bottle: The aroma is moderately peachy with a nice lemony tartness. It pours a cloudy orange with a minimal head that is just a fine ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts lightly yeasty and quickly turns to a moderate lemon tartness and light peach in the finish. Light bodied with lively and slightly spritzy mouthfeel. I’m not much of a peach fan unless they are tart. The peach flavor is more sweet in this beer. hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Jul 13, 2009 bottle from stfun.
hazy orange to pale golden color with no head and very little carbonation.
smells good... under ripe peaches, pale dusty malt, smoky wood, some funky tartness, cinnamon, flowers, grass and minerals.
the flavor is a muted version of the aroma... slight peach flavor mixed with the same base of minerals, pale malt and a very slight tart funk.
medium bodied with a slick mouth feel since it is nearly dead flat. 7/4/6/3/14/3.4 Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 8, 2009 750ml bottle courtesy of StFun – thanks Josh! Pours a slightly hazy orangish dark gold with almost zero head sans for a few large bubble. The nose is sour vinegar and light unripe peaches. The taste is light barnyard funk, vinegar, malt and faint sour peach in the finish. Medium fairly flat mouthfeel. Decent lambic. I think I’d have to vote Cherry as my favorite Upland Lambic, perhaps because you can pick put the fruitiness better. Still, nice and refreshing on a hot Phoenix summer evening. Thanks again Big J!
