The mild aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of acidic hops. Not one that I would buy again. noncaloric (612), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Clear ruddy orange pour with a small beige head, minimal lace. Floral aroma with hints of caramel and aroma. Flavor nice balances a gentle but present hops load with lightly toasted malts. Clearly floral, but also toasty, caramel, vanilla, toffee. A little huskiness on the finish. Medium body, coarse but lively palate.Overall I am pleased. rscaletta (9), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Bottle poured in a goblet. Hazy reddish-orange held to the light with a small tan head. Smells of spicy hops, can’t place them. Maybe a little Belgian yeasty smells but they fade fast. Flavor is tart and alive. Wheaty finish.
My bottle had a zombie. I guess that’s rad. Very enjoyable everyday drinker. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Bottle. Shared by Chris at Nessun Dorma. The beer pours to an amber body with an off-white head. Aroma is malt and seemingly honey. Flavor is "sour" up front with some malt of some sort. Again that honey and some spicy something. Average palate. This beer is a pass. jebert (113), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Pours a beautiful copper red with a tannish white head mostly lasting. Aroma is full of hops. Mouthfeel is very creamy. Taste of hops predominates with notes of licorice and spice. A little too hoppy for the style. Pairs well with nuts, cheese and fruit. BBB63 (4230), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 22, 2009 IBGF 2009: Amber hues with a solid creamy almost white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and toffee with some biscuit too, fruity and grassy hops, hint of mineral water and a touch of macadamia nuts. The taste is rather straight forward amber offering, sweet malt with a moderate citric hop background accented by a dose of earthy character. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing enough but the finish is a tad chalky. Overall a solid Amber Ale and worth a try. kuphish (158), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Rocket girl bottle. Pours an average sized, light tan, foamy head. Clear, amber body. Aroma is initially of spicy, herbal hops, caramel malt and some toast. Hop flavor comes through as citric, supported by more caramel malt and woody earth. Prickly carbonation, medium bodied with a pleasantly bitter finish. Overall an enjoyable amber ale. pinion (5), , Indiana, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Pours a nice amber red with a small head that dissipated quickly. The aroma smells a bit more brown to me than a normal red but I don’t have a good smeller. A dark maltiness flavor comes through on this with some bitterness in the end. Great mouth feel. Nice and creamy. Overall not bad. I’d drink another... and another...
