Dark copper colour...small white head which diminished to nothing. Nutty aroma and taste, a touch of bitterness but light body. I like it with spicy food but on it’s so-so.

Nice malty aroma, large head upon pouring, good roasted malt flavor with a balanced but metallic hop bite, very little carbonation and lessens as you drink it, lacing lasts to the finish, not a bad brew for the money

Brown colour, dull head. Sharp and mettalic flavours make this pretty regular beer; lacks the fruitiness required. Draught.

Dark amber/light brown with a thick tan head that fades to thin lace. Sweet caramel aroma, lightly nutty. Flavour is malty, with a hint of molasses and lightly toasty. Thin body. OK.

Bottle. last one from my Upper Canada mix pack. Metallic hops and loads of malt in the aroma. Deep copper in appearance with a small white head. Tastes very sweet and malty. A decent beer but not great. My favourite of the six was the Maple Brown.

My faith in Upper Canada has been restored. This used to be my beer of choice way back in the days when I worked around the corner from the now closed Upper Canada brewery in downtown Toronto. A beautiful almost purple brown with a definitely fruity aroma. Nice tasting - not as strong as I’ve come to prefer, but not a pushover either. Nice malty bitterness. Sleeman’s or not- this is still a decent ale.

re-rate: very aromatically sweet and malty. Nice colour... a tad soapy but better than Big rock on tap. Worth the second try. Original Rating: Oh I dunno. I’ve had better in the Big Rock line really. Sort of follows the same soapy principles.

Nice brown color, small off white head that had a short life then faded to leave little behind. The aroma was malty sweet with maybe a mild hint of hops and a little caramel possible with a faint fruity side. The flavor was nothing special, malty and mildly fruity with a hint of chocolate in there as well as a faint presence of hops.Nothing special but it’s worth a try atleast.
